Character Variant Goals: Track Every Version of Your Favourite Card
New in Byndr: create a goal to collect all variants of a specific character — Base, Alt Art, SP, Leader, and more — with automatic progress tracking.

Completing a character, not just a set#
For dedicated collectors — especially in One Piece — the goal is rarely to complete an entire set. It is to own every version of Nami, every Boa Hancock art, every form of Uta across the Extra Boosters and Premium sets. That is a fundamentally different goal from "collect all cards in EB03", and it needed its own tracking system.
The new Character Variant goal type is the answer.
How to create one#
- Open Collection → Goals and click New Goal
- Select Character Variants as the goal type
- Enter the character name and optionally the set name
- For each variant (Base, Alt Art, SP, Leader, DON!!) enter the card ID if you know it
Card IDs are optional but powerful. When a card ID is provided — for example EB03-016 for a Nami base card — Byndr automatically checks your collection and marks that variant as owned. No manual ticking required.
Variant pills#
Each character variant goal displays as a compact checklist showing all variants as pills:
- Green with a tick — card found in your collection
- Solid grey — known card ID, not yet owned
- Dashed grey with ? — no card ID set, tracked manually
Works with any TCG#
Although the character-focused design was inspired by One Piece collecting, the system is completely TCG-agnostic. Pokémon collectors can use it to track all art versions of a favourite Pokémon across sets. Any collector who thinks in terms of characters rather than sets will find it useful.
Gradual data enrichment#
Not every card ID is known at the time a set releases. You can create a Character Variant goal immediately and add card IDs as they become available. The goal updates in real time once an ID is entered and the card is in your collection.
